MUSE
Measuring Urban Sanitation & Empowerment
The MUSE project is developing and validating a portfolio of scales and indices to measure women’s empowerment in the context of urban sanitation.
Water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) is essential to individuals’ health and well-being. Despite significant investment and prioritization, access to WASH remains out of reach for many people around the world. Beyond a basic need for WASH services and facilities, there is also a need to understand access to WASH that promotes empowerment and self-determination for women and girls everywhere.
